Kimbra’s one of those artists who may drop off the radar for a little bit, but it’s only because she’s been so busy working. Having already racked up an impressive list of collaborators, she’s now unveiled a new track she co-wrote with Danish producer SLOWOLF.

The track, which was premiered via NYLON overnight, is a glittering, genre-bending electronic tune titled ‘White Feathers’ which brings out Kimbra’s formidable pipes front and centre. Not bad for something the two collaborated on over email.

“I connected with SLOWOLF after he remixed a track for me called ‘Goldmine.’ I loved his use of organic instrumentation matched with the electronic elements like heavy drops and cut-up, out-of-the-box groove approaches,” Kimbra told NYLON.

“It’s been great to collaborate on this track (which we did from separate countries!) and to then explore the song in a live context together where it took on a different life. The song to me is about courage and rising from the ashes after times of pain.”

“In my world Kimbra is one of the greatest and most unique living female vocalists,” SLOWOLF said of his collaborator in a statement. “She is an artist with a capital A and she has the craziest melodic surplus.”

“After working remotely on the track we finally got to meet face to face in a studio in Los Angeles and we only needed to play the song a few times before we recorded a live session video the day after.”
