Every week a plethora of big name acts, Australian musicians and little-known musos drop brand spankin’ new tracks on the internet. We’ve trawled through the internet to find some of our favourites and plucked them from the masses. Grab your headphones and enjoy.

SBTRKT – ‘New Dorp. New York’

The beats maestro SBTRKT has at long last served us with a brand-spanking new track ‘New Dorp. New York’ – the first taste of his much anticipated new LP. And guess what, this little ditty has a special guest appearance from the quintessence of NYC indie-rock, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig.(JH)

BAD//DREEMS – ‘My Only Friend’

Today, the four-piece have dropped their brand new single ‘My Only Friend,’ and to no surprise, it fuckin’ wails. The track sees Bad//Dreems explore the darker, more bleak depths of their rusted grunge aesthetic, ditching fuzzy guitars for more alt-rock meandering riffs one might catch on a Built To Spill record. Kimbra – ‘Miracle’

‘Miracle’ has Kimbra channeling her long-held Prince and Michael influences in a slice of seriously groove-laden disco revivalism, then filtering it through a blender of her unique artistry. It’s an all-encompassing joyous celebration, a colourful explosion that once again shows off the 24-year-old’s vast and chameleonic talent. It also features two of Kimbra’s many collaborators featured on The Golden Echo: Daniel Johns and Thundercat, who were two of the names she talked about with Tone Deaf when she gave us an extensive guide to the long list of artists she tapped in for her forthcoming record. Danny Brown & Rustie – ‘Attak’

Scottish producer Rustie and Detriot rapper Danny Brown have teamed up once again to produce ‘Attak’. They worked together on (among others) ‘Dope Song’ one of the biggest tracks off Brown’s genre changing 2013 LP Old. The duo ave an undeniable musical chemistry, as Brown brings his trademark playfully aggressive energy to ‘Attak’ rapidfire spitting over Rustie’s choppy, bombastic, temperamental beats. (LD)

The Ninjas – ‘Never Had Much Time’

The Brissy outfit recently dropped their single ‘Never Had Much Time’ that positions itself comfortably between Aussie legends Grinspoon and high-octane punks, The Hives. This track “in your face” bravado as Josh Stewart vocally spits and snarls whilst the track sonically trades from stop-start gutsy-riffs to build to an all-consuming squealing, face-melting solo that is impossible not to thrash your head to. Tkay Maidza – ‘U-Huh’

‘U-Huh’ is Tkay’s latest single, a follow up to 2013’s ‘Brontosaurus’ and the more recent club banger ‘Arm Up’ for which she teamed up with Swick and Lewis Cancut to release via the Portugal based Enchufada collective. Catchy and accessible,  ‘U-Huh’ is Tkay at her most straight-radio-pop we’ve seen so far, but Adelaide based MC is still able to show the world that she can spit better than the rest. Thanks to talents like Tkay and her contemporaries, Australian hip hop is no longer a dirty term. (LD)

Sleep – ‘The Clarity’

Opening with a minimalist drone sound before hitting the listener over the head with defunct time signatures and slow paced, echoic guitar wails, Sleep dismiss any pre-conceived thought of having lost their spark. Clocking in at just under the 10-minute mark, ‘The Clarity’ showcases Sleep at their most natural; thick, spacey riffs, together with crashing snare and cymbal hits as well as Al Cisneros’ signature throaty vocals that spiral throughout. Klo – ‘False Calls’

Elctronic duo (and cousins) Klo have released their follow up single ‘False Calls’, hookier and more R&B driven than their first single, Lam’s flat and soft bass patterns and Kaul’s vocals swirl together and becoming both dizzying and hypnotic all at once. (LD)
