Australians are lucky enough to be spoilt for choice when it comes to things like great local gigs, big-time concerts, and music festivals. Wherever you are, there’s always an abundance of music activity.

Well, unless you live in regional or remote areas like the Northern Territory. Alas, the good old NT is rarely included on the tour itineraries of most artists and music festivals, and that includes local ones.

The folks at Wide Open Space Festival are looking to change all of that and they’ve just announced the first round lineup for their “much-loved desert festival”, which is set to make its return this April.

The first lineup has something for everyone and will definitely get the party started in the often overlooked state, including appearances from Om Unit, Saskwatch, Tek Tek Ensemble, and that’s just the interstate and international roster.

Wide Open Space Festival is Australia’s “most ‘out there’ multi-day music culture and arts festival”, taking place at Ross River Resort, about 80km east of Alice Springs, right in the red heart of Australia.
