A new and unique approach to the presenting of arts and entertainment is happening at The Alexander Theatre at Monash University. Called ‘The Alexander Technique’ and combining the elements of performance, dance, art and music with fine food and drink in an intimate precinct, The Alexander Technique threatens to become an important event on both the social and cultural horizon of Melbourne.
In its inaugural offering on Thursday 25 September, The Alexander Technique presents some of Melbourne’s freshest sounds, most loved DJ’s and performance artistes who will transform the popular perception of the iconic Alexander Theatre with Saskwatch, Animaux, Pretty City, Rainbow Connections DJs and dancer Atlanta Eke and collaborator Daniel Jenatsch all on the lineup.
During an epic five-hour entertainment experience, audiences have the opportunity to explore the subterranean labyrinth of Monash University’s Alexander Theatre with backstage spaces hosting elegant fuzz rock cameos in the scene dock, dance and audio visual experimentations, DJ’s and musical interludes in the reception areas as well as the specially curated line up on the main stage.
Breathe deeply, and fight your way through a forest of adjectives to discover new ways of looking at old concrete.

On sale will be a veritable springtime of flavoursome delights and a wine and beer selection crafted specifically for the inaugural Alexander Technique happening. More details will be announced closer to the date.

The Alexander Technique is from the creative minds of Duckpond (Faux Mo producer at Mona Foma and  Dark Mofo) and Monash Academy of Performing Arts, headed by former Adelaide Festival AD Paul Grabowsky.
