There always was a pop heart beating inside Yuksek’s unique brand of electronic dancefloor bangers. Always catchy hooks hidden between the acid loops, hints of glam and indie infiltrating his energized house beats.

Never an aspiring DJ or clubber by nature, his shows are a live flurry of keyboards, mixing consoles, wires and drum machines and he’ll be bringing his sound to our shores this July playing in Sydney and Perth, then concluding his visit at Splendour In The Grass.

Real name Pierre Alexander-Busson, Yuksek’s latest album ‘Living On The Edge Of Time’ (released last year) is a record inspired by the numbness of life on the road, the feeling of being alone in a crowd and constant need for creative exploration – but also a collection of unabashed, jubilant pop tunes; introspect and uplifting at the same time.

First single “On A Train” shudders with a twitchy new wave bass line and “Say A Word” explodes with chirpy synths and a jumpy melody, and you can’t go past the frantic, rhythm-‘n-blues-y, piano riff that, well, runs through in album opener “Always On The Run”.

Don’t miss the French electro maverick when he plays live to Australian audiences this July!
