The Pierce Brothers Australian Tour 2014 has been announced.

Following on from managing to sell 15,000 CDs in a year without the aid of a record label, roots-rock duo The Pierce Brothers have followed up that staggering achievement with the release of ‘It’s My Fault’, the first taste of their forthcoming EP The Night Tree.

Conceived at Hanoi airport, Vietnam – half way home and restless, returning from their first UK tour – Jack, the younger of the twins by two minutes, penned ‘It’s My Fault’. An honest track comprehending the full extent of one’s own guilt, self regret and loathing. “It’s about that moment you realise you truly fucked up and there’s no reason why you should have made that mistake,” he says.

It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for The Pierce Brothers. Having played sold out Australian shows, toured through England and Scotland, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and independently releasing debut EP Blind Boys Run, selling 15,000 copies.

‘It’s My Fault’ sees the band exploring new ground and capturing their infectious live energy in the studio. Recorded by Cam Trewin (Kingswood) and mastered by Steve Smart (Jezabels, Empire of the Sun) the single showcases their energetic indie folk stylings, strong harmonies, pop hooks and a unique melody.

Set for digital release on April 4th, ‘It’s My Fault’ will also feature on the forthcoming The Night Tree EP of 5 studio tracks and 3 live recordings set for release in May.

An active live show of electric guitar, rolling floor tom, digeridoo, kick tambourine with both brothers often sharing the vocal duties. Pat keeps the beat and heart of the bands sound with the stomp box and kick drum while Jack moves around a lot, sometimes on guitar, sometimes dancing with harmonica.
