While Jet’s recent reformation and publishing deal may have sparked rumours of a new record, it would appear before that happens, we will get some music from Nic Cester.

Cester was announced for Bluesfest last month, and has now announced a pair of solo shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Cester described his solo music as “a mixture of soul, blues and lost Italian soundtrack music” saying the decision to test the songs live before recording was a deliberate one.

“Normally you would release music then go and play the songs live, but I like the idea of returning to the source, the live show, to let people who are interested come and hear the songs played with all the energy and human connection that make them come alive”, he explains.
“I really want to do things differently to how I’ve done them before and challenge myself and the band, and this feels like a really exciting way to do it.”Check out the dates, below.
