Anthony Kiedis was forced to leave a basketball game early on Saturday night, being ejected from an LA Lakers game after yelling at an opposing team member.

It’s a well-known fact that the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis is fond of California. In fact, he’s such a fan that he’s often seen attending hometown matches of his beloved LA Lakers. However, there’s a chance he might be on thin ice with security following a recent altercation.

As USA Today Sports notes, the match between the LA Lakers and the Houston Rockets was a rather controversial one from the get-go. While famed player LeBron James was making his home debut with the Lakers, the match saw Houston’s Chris Paul trade blows with LA’s Rajon Rondo during the fourth quarter.

As Chris Paul was being led off the court though, he happened to pass by Anthony Kiedis, who voiced his displeasure at Paul’s actions. After soon giving the finger to an unidentified member of the Houston Rockets, Kiedis was then led out of the venue by a security guard.

While it’s not exactly clear what Anthony Kiedis said that got him kicked out of the Staples Center, his Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Flea happened to briefly mention the incident during a post on Instagram.

“At the lakers game last night with my dear brother,” Flea wrote. “It Got crazy at the end, but man I get so satisfied, deeply drinking in the depth and beauty of the game. People operating at a high level in so many dimensions. Cerebral, physical, spiritual, emotional, unspoken and telepathic communication. I truly love basketball with my ❤️❤️❤️.”

In related Red Hot Chili Peppers news though, the band recently broke their live performance drought to play at a benefit concert in – you guessed it – California. While the band have noted they’re back in the studio recording new tunes once again, there’s no word yet as to when we might get to hear them.
