Two men are being held by British police on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and murder 24 year old British soul singer Joss Stone. The two,  aged in their 30s, were collared by police initially on suspicion of attempting to steal and being in possession of offensive weapons. However, they were held for further questioning after it was rumoured that they were also found to have swords, a body bag, rope maps and aerial photographs of her country pile in their car. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police told reporters “Officers attended the area at around 10am and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto. Major crime detectives are continuing to investigate.”

Detective Inspector Steve Parker, who is heading up enquiries in to the bizarre and frightening circumstances, said: “The two men in custody had in their possession information relating to an individual in the Cullompton area and items which lead us to suspect that they may have intended to commit a criminal offence. Police inquiries continue and the men remain in custody. We’re unable to say any more at this time but I would like to thank the local residents for reporting the suspicious car. Our officers are currently carrying out reassurance patrols and it’s important to stress no properties have been burgled and no individuals have been harmed.”

Stone is reportedly not as shaken as might have been expected, with neighbours reporting that she is usually with friends and was a the time of the arrests. The news comes in the wake of the revelation that she has joined a new supergroup with Mick Jagger, Damian Marley and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.
