“Have you watched Stranger Things?” is likely the question you’ve heard from everyone lately. If you haven’t, seriously, what are you waiting for? It’s one of the most refreshingly original television series to come along in a while.

You’ve no doubt seen all of the acclaim that’s being heaped on the show from all corners of the internet, but it’s not just the carefully composed visuals, realistic characters, or the odes to 1980s and ’90s cinema that critics are praising.

Many have been praising the show’s retro soundtrack, which was composed by Austin synth outfit Survive. The theme song in particular has become an iconic piece of television scoring, taking its place alongside other ominous themes like Twin Peaks and The X-Files.

Now an Adelaide muso has gone viral with a superb jam on the Stranger Things theme. “Been watching Stranger Things and totally digging the ’80s synth inspired soundtrack. Couldn’t resist jamming on the theme,” wrote Luke Million.

At the time of writing, Million’s video, which shows him revamping the Stranger Things theme live on a bunch of retro synths, has amassed almost 650,000 views and has been liked over 10,000 times, including by Aussie EDM mavericks The Presets.
