British songstress M.I.A. is back after mixed reactions from fans and critics to her 2010 LP /\/\ /\ Y /\ which failed to achieve the sales success her previous record Kala enjoyed. But none of that seems to have bothered the 36-year-old who just recently confirmed her appearance at the Super Bowl Halftime show, as a duet with Madonna. Weird. We know.

M.I.A., real name Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, is now gearing up for the release of her yet-to-be-named fourth studio LP which is due sometime later this year. In anticipation M.I.A. has released the first single off that record, Bad Girls, which was actually originally leaked unmastered onto the internet about a year ago.

The track doesn’t pull any real punches, but fans of M.I.A.’s previous work will not be disappointed. Still, we have to wonder how much longer her shtick will continue to sell records. A video for the track from “Born Free” director Romain Gavras is due this Friday, February 3.
