We’ve all had dreams of musical stardom, right? But playing music that you love in a band with talented musicians, then having your name forever associated with a piece of musical history that people love and enjoy forever is just a pipe dream for most, right? Well, not anymore.
EveryOneBand is set to be the biggest band in the world, and they want you to become a member. Described as the “largest ever interactive recording project”, the project aims to be a massive project of musical collaboration, featuring everyone from some of music’s biggest names, to every day musicians that are only just finding their feet.
Already, EveryOneBand has a confirmed membership of well over 500, including artists such as Midnight Oil (Peter Garrett, Rob Hirst, Jim Moginie, Martin Rotsey, Bones Hillman), Manfredi and The Preatures, Cold Chisel (Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Don Walker, Phil Small), Powderfinger (Bernard Fanning, Ian Haug, John Collins), Murray Cook, Anthony Field, Jeff Fatt from The Wiggles, DMA’s, The Delta Riggs, Kirin J Callinan, Kate Miller-Heidke, Paul Kelly, and so many more.
The brainchild of GANGgajang’s Mark Callaghan, EveryOneBand is open to everyone, even those who believe they have no musical talent. All you have to do to get involved is to head over to the EveryOneBand website, sign up, and contribute your recorded part to the tune ‘Stand By You’, which will then be mixed into the final product before a digital release.
With 100% of royalties and profit going towards Support Act, the Australian music charity assisting musicians, road crew and anyone that has worked professionally in music, not only is this all a bit of fun, but it all goes towards a worthy cause.
Of course, EveryOneBand also makes it clear that by contributing to the song, your name will forever be associated with it and its successes, meaning that if the single goes to #1, that’s a chart-topping spot that has your name attached to it, and if the single is certified as going Gold, well you can expect a fancy certificate from the folks at ARIA coming your way.
