Have you ever wanted to be featured on the next hit Aussie single, only to be told that talent is a pre-requisite? Trust us, it’s a pain that never stops hurting, but the upside is that Birds Of Tokyo are giving you the chance to live that dream and sing along on their newest single.

Taking to Facebook yesterday afternoon, Birds Of Tokyo put out the call for keen performers to be featured in the recording of their newest song. “Have u been called the songbird of your generation,” the post begins. “We are looking for about 20-30 pub chant singalong legends for a new song. Need to be able to be in Inner West in Sydney on Friday arvo at a friend’s pub with us. We will record you singing with us and you’ll be on the next single.”

So if you can make it an undisclosed location in Sydney’s Inner West on Friday, September 8th at 2:45pm, are over 18, and okay with being filmed in some behind-the-scenes stuff, then the band are asking you to send through an email with your details. The group are picking eligible vocalists on a first-in, best-dressed basis, so act quickly.

As it stands, it hasn’t even been a year since Birds Of Tokyo released their fifth record, Brace, so it looks like the lads are acting quick to get a follow-up record out on the shelves.

The group are set to perform with Midnight Oil and Ash Grunwald next month, when the Oils’ ‘Great Circle’ tour extends to New South Wales’ Hunter Valley. Since details about this new song are pretty scarce, we’ve got no idea if it’ll be featured in the band’s setlist for this gig, but here’s hoping.

If you’re keen to head along and be featured on the new Birds Of Tokyo single as a guest vocalist, be sure to follow the details in the above Facebook post.
