The deluxe version of 2016’s California comes out next Friday, and those two guys from Blink and Matt Skiba have released yet another tune from it, the poppy ‘Wildfire’.
“Think of your favorite song from Enema of the State”, the band said of the song. “Now think of your favorite song from California. Now imagine them falling in love and starting a family of their own. That’s what this song is.”
To my ears it sounds closer to something from 2001’s Take Off Your Pants And Jacket but that’s needless nitpicking. Regardless of what you compare it to, it’s a damn fine song, and probably should have been on California. Oh well, as long as we get to hear it.
