Following the untimely death of stuntman Johann ‘Yogi’ Ofner on the set of a Bliss N Eso music video in January, the hip hop act have released a touching tribute video.

As triple j report, Ofner died while filming a robbery scene for a video clip for this very same track, but was fatally shot by a weapon loaded with blanks. Now, the song is accompanied instead by footage of a tribute show from last month that raised over $40,000 dollars, along with heartfelt words from his friends, family and colleagues, including his six-year-old daughter Kyarna.

Further money was raised by generous crowdfunding campaigns in the week’s that followed Ofner’s death, with the money intended to support his young daughter and her mother in the years ahead.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to our recent Johann ‘Yogi” Ofner tribute show on the Gold Coast,” Bliss N Eso told fans in a statement accompanying the video, made by Peter John. “Your support helped raise over $40,000 for Johann’s daughter. It was incredibly special to share the night with Johann’s friends and family, it will have an important place in our hearts and minds forever.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank some important people and organisations for their contribution towards this tribute show, including The Coolangatta Hotel, Oztix, IJS Logistics Pty Ltd, QT Gold Coast, DK Drums, Colourblind Production lighting, Art of Motion Pursuit of Movement and Mushroom Creative.”

A tribute tee shirt is also being sold in a continued effort to raise money for Ofner, with proceeds going to the trust set up for Kyarna.
