Guitarist Russell Lissack has confirmed that the rumours abounding at the end of last year suggesting that Bloc Party had reunited after a long break were indeed correct. He’s revealed that he has met up with front man Kele Okereke and they have begun writing together, with the band hoping to make an album later this year.

He says “Kele and I started working on Bloc Party stuff together and separately,” he said. Having finished his duties as a touring member of Ash, he says: “We’re having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we’re going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material.”
