Legendary English rockers Bloc Party are set to return to Australia later this year for what is bound to be a stunning run of shows, but they’ve also upped the ante, announcing they’re set to play their seminal 2005 debut Silent Alarm in full at every one of these dates.

In early 2005, Bloc Party – a group of English indie musicians whose popularity had been steadily on the rise thanks to a pair of well-received EPs – released their debut album, Silent Alarm.

A devastating mix of emotion and urgency delivered through some stunning post-punk tunes, the record was a huge success, scoring the group four tunes in the 2005 Hottest 100, and going on to be called one of the greatest albums of not only the decade, but of all time.

Earlier this year, Bloc Party announced a series of European dates for this October which will see them perform their debut record in full. Of course, this was great news for fans in the Northern Hemisphere, but ever-faithful Aussie fans remained hoped that maybe the group would decide to grace our fine country with their presence. Today, their prayers have been answered.

Coming just months after frontman Kele Okereke wrapped up a solo tour of the country, Bloc Party are set to return to Australia in November of this year to perform their landmark debut album in full, hitting up Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in the process.

Even still, thirteen years after the record was released, Silent Alarm sounds just as groundbreaking as it did back in February of 2005. Despite the fact that two of of Bloc Party’s founding members are no longer part of the group, the band are set to deliver a series of performances that fans won’t soon forget.

Tickets to these performances go on sale at 10am, Monday, July 2nd, with a pre-sale kicking off at 9am on Friday, June 29th. Don’t miss your chance to be part of indie-rock history when the legendary Bloc Party return to Aussie shores to perform Silent Alarm in full.
