Previously announced headliner for this year’s Bluesfest in Byron Bay, Roger Daltrey of The Who has been forced to cancel his Australian tour due to ‘unforeseen scheduling conflicts’ according to a statement issued by tour promoter Chugg Entertainment this morning.

A statement posted online read: Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, Chugg Entertainment and Bluesfest Touring today announced that Roger Daltrey’s upcoming tour of Australia, including an appearance at Bluesfest on Monday 9 April, will regrettably be cancelled. Mr Daltrey is sorry to disappoint his fans and hopes to reschedule tour dates in the near future.

Daltrey was set to headline playing The Who’s classic album Tommy as well as a few other classic tunes. Bluesfest have immediately offered refunds to ticket holders who bought a single day ticket for Monday 9th April and are disappointed by the cancellation. Those wishing to take them up on the offer should call the Bluesfest office on 02 6685 8310.

Promoters of Bluesfest have also advised ticket holders to keep an eye out on the Bluesfest website for revised artist information for Monday 9th April, although it was unclear whether a replacement for Daltrey would be sought. Also on the lineup of the festival this year is John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, Earth Wind & Fire, Cold Chisel and more.
