David Bowie: The Last Five Years” was released last year and followed the last years of his life and career. It showcased archival footage and never before heard takes from the studio of him recording his last two albums.

This new documentary will focus on the late artist’s early life and career. Hopefully it will feature more new footage and work from the days before he became a cultural icon.

David Bowie passed away on January 10th 2016, two days after releasing his final album Blackstar. The artist became a worldwide superstar with the glam rock theatrics of his album Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars in 1972.

His constantly evolving sound and image has meant he remains one of the most iconic musicians of the past century. Many artists today name him as a major influence upon their music.

Whilst more details on the upcoming documentary are scarce, if it’s anything like the previous two, it’s gonna be great. Watch a scene featuring his haunting isolated vocal take from “Lazarus” below.
