We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files, but we don’t like regurgitating press releases or asking the easy questions. At Tone Deaf we only ask the tough questions, so just hold still, grit your teeth, clench your buttocks and be still while we put on the rubber gloves, apply the thumbscrews, and pull out our thermometer while you open up and say ahhhhhhhhhhh… Truthful answers only or we drink your rider while you’re on stage.

Who gets the most ‘off stage action’ in the band? What’s the secret to their success?

Ha, I guess it would have to be Manny the drummer… He’s half Greek and half Italian and wears tight jeans.. Lets just say it doesn’t leave much to the imagination..

Have you ever been arrested? Where were you, and what was it for?

Yeah, I have actually… It’s kind of a long story.. But here it goes.. I was heading from the Central Coast To Sydney on a train for a night out with some friends. On the train I ran into another group of friends heading to a random party and they insisted i join, they told me there was a keg so I felt obliged to go…

After about 10 of the best home brew pints I’ve ever tasted I headed back into the city on another train..

Having broken the seal just before I left the party I was dying to take a leak.. I got off the train at Town Hall, I couldn’t find a bathroom anywhere and in my drunken state figured it would be fine to relieve myself at the George st entrance to the station..

About 5 seconds in I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see a bloke behind me in a flano.. I kindly asked him to wait his turn and went back on with my business.. I felt another tap and I turned to see a police badge resting on my shoulder..

After finishing I explained to the undercover officer that I had lost my wallet on the train and gave him a run of fake names. I dropped the name Joey Joe Joe and the officer told me i was under arrest, took me back to the station and told me I’d spend the night in a cell if I didn’t give him my real name.. I finally cracked, gave him my real name and showed him my id.

He let me go but i was given a 500 dollar fine and a slap on the wrist..

Long story yes.. But you asked.

What’s been the worst day job you’ve ever had?

Pizza Delivery Boy (aka Dougie)

Sex, drugs and groupies – In what order do you prefer them and how often?

That order sounds pretty good and anytime… Although can I exchange groupies for beers??

Take us back to the first gig you went to. Where was it and what was the venue?

Hmmmm.. I think it was a Elton John and Billy Joel concert at one of the big stadiums in Sydney, I was 10.. My mum was dating a security guard working at the venue at the time and he snuck us from the nose-bleed section all the way to the front.. NICE!

What’s your favourite site to download music from and do you ever pay for it? Can we find any of your releases there?

I’ve never been into music downloading. For a musician it’s kind of like taking a shit in your bed, covering it in money and setting the whole thing on fire… Plus I prefer the hard copy anyway.. Although recently I bought Little Red – Midnight remember and Dr Dog – Shame, shame off iTunes, so i guess that’s my favourite.. And yes, you can find my track ‘Moon comes up” on there..

What’s the furthest you’d go to win over a new fan?

The furthest I’d go to win over a new fan… Hmmmmm… Do new fans like nudity???

Right, thanks for answering the tough questions, tell us about upcoming gigs/tours and releases.

No, thank you questionnaire! I have my first Boy In A Box gig coming up on the 17th at the Grace Darling in Fitzroy with the Young Faithful whom I am looking very forward to seeing! My first EP ‘Glitter, Gold, Ruin’ should be hitting the shelves in the next few months!!
