I got my first real six-string /Bought it at the five-and-dime /Played it till my fingers bled /It was the summer of ’69. Now ‘fess up  -you know all the lyrics to Bryan Adams’ ‘Summer of 69’ don’t you? You’ve all drunkenly sung along to it and just about every muso in Australia can play the song at the drop of a hat. Hence in awesome news, Bryan Adams has announced an Australian tour this coming September.

The Canadian rocker, who topped the UK charts for an incredible 16 weeks in a row in 1991 with the theme from Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, ‘Everything I Do (I Do It For You)’, is set to entertain Australian audiences with a stripped back solo acoustic performance in some of the most intimate performances he’s ever undertaken. Entitled the Bare Bones tour, the shows replicate live his latest album Bare Bones.

The disc, recorded in 2010 during his Bare Bones Tour, captures sparsely arranged hits by Adams featuring only his distinctive voice and guitar, accompanied by keyboardist Gary Breit. Expect to hear all your favourite sing-alongs, such as ‘Cuts Like A Knife’, ‘Run To You’, ‘Heaven’ and Tone Deaf’s favourite drunken singalong, ‘Summer of 69’.
