If you’re a fan of Scottish synth-pop champions CHVRCHES, then there’s good news in the pipeline, with the group apparently releasing details of their new album today.

It has currently been three years since CHVRCHES released their second album, Every Open Eye, and understandably, fans are getting a little bit keen for new material from the group. Following the release of their newest single, ‘Get Out’, last month, it looks as though we’re getting ever-closer to that new album.

As Pitchfork reports, the group recently took to social media to share an interview and photo which confirmed that their new record is set to be titled Love Is Dead, with the album’s tracklisting following soon after.

The photo also confirms the inclusion of a track titled ‘My Enemy’, which was apparently leaked onto streaming service Deezer a little prematurely. According to the Reddit community r/indieheads, the track was briefly available on the service before being taken down sometime in the last 48 hours.

One user’s review of the track seemed to give us an example of what to expect from the new single and album. “The chorus reminds me some songs from the 90’s,” wrote u/nimroddd. “Anyway it’s a nice collab, haven’t heard CHVRCHES in such tempo for a long time.”

According to a screenshot taken of the track, it appears to contain guest vocals from none other than The National’s Matt Berninger, who also appeared in the video for the album’s lead single ‘Get Out’.

While the group are yet to confirm any more details about the new record (including when we’ll actually be able to pump it into our ears), it looks as though the record will be dropping rather soon. All we have to do now is start getting ready for that eventual Australian tour announcement, right?
