Soundwave Revolution’s Counter Revolution ‘mini-fest’ in Melbourne has been downgraded from the 14,000 capacity Sidney Myer Music Bowl to the 5,500 capacity Festival Hall.

An apparent ‘dispute’ with the Music Bowl has led to the gig being moved to the new venue, which has just over a third of the capacity of the Music Bowl, perhaps indicating that organisers were a bit ambitious with their venue booking for a skeleton crew of acts retained from the ashes of the cancelled Soundwave Revolution.

According to the ever reliable Twitter feed of organiser AJ Maddah, the Counter Revolution will make use of Festival Hall and its surrounds:

A spokesperson for Soundwave has confirmed it will have dual stages and will be licensed/all ages. Headlined by Panic! At The Disco, the show will take place on Friday 30th September as previously advised with all tickets purchased for the Music Bowl show will be valid at the new venue. You can join all 570 people currently shown as attending the Melbourne event here
