Daryl Braithwaite — best known for hits ‘One Summer’, ‘As The Days Go By’, ‘Summer Love’, ‘Howzat’, and no others that I can recall — will be headlining a massive 15-hour marathon show at Parramatta Park.

The always-excellent Kate Ceberano will also be headlining, but I couldn’t think of a suitable joke for her.

“I’m excited to be part of the Australia Day festivities in Parramatta Park along with so many talented performers”, Braithwaite sang in perfect pitch.

“It’s humbling that these songs which mean so much to me continue to strike a chord with so many people of all ages across the country, and I’m looking forward to putting on a great show for my fans in Western Sydney.”

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Andrew Wilson chimed in (he was a bit flat): “The City of Parramatta’s rich colonial heritage puts Parramatta front and centre at the celebration of the founding of this country. Council looks forward to celebrating our rich history and what it means to be Australian in 2018 as we look forward to another year of building Australia’s next great city.

“There is no better place than Parramatta to enjoy Australia Day and I encourage everyone to come along and be part of this wonderful celebration which truly offers something for every member of the family to enjoy.”
