The fact Dave Grohl is excellent at impersonations should come as a surprise to no one – just check out his impressions of British voiceovers here. But in September last year the Foo Fighters linchpin offered up what is arguably his most spot-on impersonation yet.

In a September 2017 interview with UK radio presenter Chris Moyles, whose The Chris Moyles Show airs on UK commercial station Radio X, the topic of US TV show Saturday Night Live came up.

Actor luminary Christopher Walken was hosting an SNL episode in 2003 when he asked the night’s performing act Foo Fighters just how the band name was pronounced.

“He asked us if the accent was on ‘Foo’ or ‘Fighters’,” said Dave Grohl. “And we know who he is. We know how he speaks. And we said, ‘Uh, the accent is on “Fighters,” actually.’”

The band then took the SNL stage to play ‘All My Life,’ off their 2002 LP One by One.
