It’s almost been three years since the release of Dead Letter Circus’ last full album of original tunes. Now, the group have announced that they’re set to release their long-awaited new album in just two months.

Last year, Dead Letter Circus released The Endless Mile, an album which saw the group reimagining a number of their previous classics. Of course, while this was an absolute belter, fans were hanging out for a new record, and the band reassured everyone that a new one was on the way.

Following the release of ‘The Armour You Own’ back in April, things were starting to look up for fans of the Brisbane five-piece. Now, Dead Letter Circus have revealed that their new self-titled record is set to be released on September 21st.

Produced once again by the likes of Forrester Savell (Karnivool) and Matt Bartlem (Jarryd James, Matt Corby), Dead Letter Circus is described as the most organic album of the band’s career, featuring the band at their natural best, and showcasing exactly what made them the rock legends they are today.

To celebrate the announcement of this new album, the band have also dropped their brand new single, ‘The Real You’. With huge hooks and a powerful, anthemic delivery, ‘The Real You’ sees the group touching on some pretty important themes about society’s cultural shift at the hands of social media.

“‘The Real You’ was me absorbing the cultural changes that have grown around Social Media” explains frontman Kim Benzie. “Life should be a journey towards letting go of the mask you create with your insecurities when you’re young.”

“It feels like we’ve accidentally created a culture where the concept of the mask is now what you aspire towards. The song is about craving an interaction that doesn’t have a filter.”

Dead Letter Circus is set to be released via BMG on September 21st, and is available for pre-order now.
