Much hyped folk troubadour Devendra Banhart has announced that he’ll be playing sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne as he heads down under to play at Splendour In The Grass. Named by Pitchfork as ‘a major voice in new folk music’, Devendra Banhart’s eccentric mix of lyrical gestures, out there vocals vocals, folk rhythms and sweet melodies have seen him likened to an eclectic range of artists – from Van Morrison, John Lennon and Jeff Buckley before he was ordained a preeminent force within the growing freak-folk genre.

The multilingual musician will be accompanied by his band The Grogs for live renditions of his wonderful stylistically diverse songs such as ‘Lover’, ‘Chinese Children’, ‘I Feel Just Like A Child’ and ‘Little Yellow Spider’.
