Rapper DMX was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona at the end of last week for speeding, being caught by cops doing 102 miles per hour in a 60mph zone. Upon checking his driving records, police found that he was driving while his license had been revoked.

The arrest of the It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot rapper came only weeks after he had been released after doing seven months porridge in the US state for probation violation, on top of clocking up a whopping six arrests in the past three years. Rather than learning from his litany of mistakes, it now seems that the hip hop star – real name Earl Simmons – is going to blame everyone but himself. Indeed he’s planning to sue over the incident.

DMX reckons there’s no way that he could have been going that fast – he says he was *only* 20 miles over the speed limit and that despite having a rap sheet that reads like a phone book, he’s being harassed.

He told celebrity juice site TMZ.com  “I was going 85 miles per hour … I know for a fact I didn’t go more than 90. I’m used to driving fast, I’m a New Yorker … but I constantly look at the speedometer when I’m driving … I need to make sure I don’t drive too fast.”

He admits he was ‘technically speeding’ (hmm, since when was being 20 miles over technically speeding) but feels that the boys in blue are giving him an unduly hard time. Hence in time honoured American tradition he’s going to sue. “I plan on suing … and I plan on suing for harassment,” he argues, saying he’ll find a lawyer to take on a case that looks pretty open and sut to most bystanders.

“I’m in discussions with multiple lawyers who are not afraid to go against the system in helping me clear my name because I have been harassed.”
