Back in August, Paul Kelly announced a pretty heavy national tour for November in support of his 23rd studio album Life Is Fine. Supported by the likes of Steve Earle and Middle Kids, it’s quite a lineup.

While the first show has sold out, a second has thankfully been added, and some tickets still remain. But if you can’t make it to the Opera House, don’t worry, life is still fine.

Double J have announced today that they’re going to do us a huge solid, and are planning to broadcast Paul Kelly’s concert at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Sunday, November 19th. The gig is set to be broadcast from 8:30pm AEDT on ABC, iview and Double J, with Myf Warhurst hosting the proceedings.

As part of Ausmusic Month, the station is doing all they can to make sure that brilliant Aussie music is as accessible to as many people as possible, and after all, a free Paul Kelly on your TV? Who’s going to say no to that? No one, that’s who.

Of course, if you’re keen on trying your luck a bit, Double J have also announced they’ve got a double pass to give away for the gig. If you reckon that ticket has your name written on it, then check out their website for more details.

If you”re unlucky enough to have none of the above goodies apply to you, don’t forget, Paul Kelly is also set to deliver one of the most special Christmas gigs you’ve ever witnessed, when he takes over Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl with Gang Of Youths, Meg Mac and Gretta Ray on December 16th.
