DZ Deathrays must be having a pretty exciting week. Fresh from the news that their track ‘Shred For Summer’ made the Hottest 100 countdown over the weekend, and their new album, Bloody Lovely, has been given a feature album spot on triple j ahead of its Friday release, the dynamic duo have today announced they’re set to bring back their own beer to a pop-bar near you this weekend.

Back in 2016, DZ Deathrays announced that they had teamed up with Young Henrys to brew their own beer. Dubbed the ‘Pils n Thrills’ Pilsner, the group joined the likes of Dune Rats, Violent Soho, and Ball Park Music in brewing their own beer, but after the 2016 Blurst Of Times Festival, it was all gone… Until now.

As DZ Deathrays get ready to release their long-awaited third album this Friday, the group have joined forced with Young Henrys to relaunch their one-off beer, this time re-dubbed the ‘Bloody Lovely’ Czech Pilsner.

“We rarely re-brew a limited release beer,” explained Andy Miller of Young Henrys. “This one was so popular and the boys have been such huge supporters of ours, that it felt like the perfect opportunity to give the people what they want and re-release the DZ Deathrays pilsner to celebrate the release of Bloody Lovely!”

“Getting to release our own beer a couple of years ago along with a big help from the Young Henrys team was so awesome!”, said DZ Deathrays’ drummer Simon Ridley. “It’s a session Pilsner and an Aussie take on a traditional Czech recipe, that reminded us of our time spent touring in Europe blended with a bit of flavour from home. We are so glad we get to do a rebrew of the beer and have people hooking in to it at the album launch pop up bar.”

So how do you get your hands on it? Well, after you head into your local record store to pick up a copy of Bloody Lovely this weekend, make your way to the select bars taking part in this exciting event in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.
