As we reach the halfway mark of the year, the NME have listed the hottest 50 bands of 2011 to date, with DZ Deathrays coming in at #8 and Bleeding Knees Club making the list at #21.

The NME’s succinct description of both bands sees DZ Deathrays labelled “Basically: Exploding Grot punk. For fans of: Jay Retard;” while Bleeding Knees Club are pigeonholed as “Basically: Thrillingly off-kilter surf pop.For fans of: Hunx And His Punx.

Bleeding Knees Club are currently in New York recording their debut album with Lightspeed Champion, while DZ Deathrays will be touring with Dananananaykroyd and Children Collide in the next three months.
