If you’ve been holding out for a new DZ Deathrays album, then there’s good news coming your way, with the band announcing that their third album finally has a release date.

Following the release of ‘Pollyanna’ last September, it had been pretty quiet on the DZ Deathrays front, until the ban released ‘Shred For Summer’, a fresh taste of their new album, a couple of months ago.

But the question still remained, when are we finally getting album number three? Well, that’s where the good news begins.

DZ Deathrays are set to release the follow-up to the 2014 ARIA-award winning Black Rat on Friday, February 2nd. Titled Bloody Lovely, and recorded with frequent collaborator Burke Reid, the 11-track record is set to see the band continue the fantastic sound that fans have come to know and love.

To celebrate this incredible news, the band have also gifted us a brand new song called ‘Total Meltdown’. Featuring the typical DZ Deathrays attitude we’ve come to expect, it features some pounding drums, rocking riffs, and is undoubtedly set to be a live favourite in the future.

Oh, speaking of live shows, the band have decided to give fans an extra special gift as well, with the announcement of a free show in Melbourne this Saturday night.

Hitting up AC/DC Lanes’ Cherry Bar, the band is set to deliver a typically blistering set which will see them through all their hits, crowd favourites, and probably even give us a taste of their upcoming record. But you’ll have to make sure you’re there early though, because spots are limited.

With Bloody Lovely slated to be released on February 2nd, it’s still a little while away, so be sure to get your fix by heading down to Cherry Bar this Saturday and seeing on Australia’s best rock bands live in the flesh.
