Over the past few years, Australia has proved itself as a forced to be reckoned within the EDM world. Our scene has produced some of the crème de la crème within electronic music, so we’ve decided to compile a list of seven up-and-coming duos you need to know.

Chymes

Chymes are an electronic pop duo from Sydney. The band, comprised of Kiersten Numan and Cameron Taylor, are true DIY auteurs. They write, record and produce all their work themselves in Cameron’s home. They’ve just released a new track ‘Wild’ — and it’s already racked up over a million streams. It’s delicate and dreamy, proving that Chymes are certainly ones to watch.

SŸDE

SŸDE are just teenagers but they’ve released an impressive array of tunes. They burst onto everyone’s radar with their impressive debut single “Orbit”.

Feels

Feels is the brainchild of Perth-based percussionists Elise Reitze and Rosie Taylor. The pair are making some of the most exciting, playful dance music out right now; it’s as bubbly and saccharine as it is witty and complex. Earlier this year the duo dropped ‘They Need Us’, an awesome collaboration with Triple J Award winner Stella Donnelly. A perfect track that acts as a middle finger to the condescending “boys club” in the music industry.

Hi Life

This Canberra duo that are bringing sweet, twinkly, glitchy bops to the table. It’s been a massive few years for Hi-Life, who have signed to KOSHER (Carmada, Tigerilla) and supported producer extraordinaire Sophie.

Their debut album is on the way and set to be released through Liberation Records. They’ve also scored themselves a spot at Bigsound. Check out their gorgeous, slow-burning  single ‘I’m Tied, To You’.
