Last week, Eminem surprised fans with a new album, Kamikaze. Despite the lack of promotion, the record has debuted at number one on the Billboard charts – making it his ninth number one since the year 2000.

It’s the fourth largest opening release week of 2018, coming in behind Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys, Drake’s Scorpion, and Travis Scott’s Astroworld. The rapper is now tied with The Rolling Stones and Garth Brooks for the fifth-most number one albums, behind The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand (both 11), and Elvis Presley (10).

The record was produced in collaboration with Dr. Dre. The record features Royce Da 5’9”, Joyner Lucas, and Jessie Reyez. It also credits Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Kendrick Lamar and Little Dragon.
