If there’s one thing that excites music fans more than the phrase “free entry”, it’s the word ‘reunion’. After all, how many times have you begged for a band to reunite, only to see them announce the much-anticipated news, before you get to witness  them blow you away with their renewed approach to music? Well, get ready for good news, because apparently, there’s a famous rock group in the process of making a reunion album. The catch? No one knows who it is just yet.

As Consequence Of Sound reports, an article has recently appeared on the gossip website Crazy Days And Nights which outlines the current activity of a rather famous rock group.

“This permanent A list rock group has apparently agreed to do something they said they’d never, ever do. Make another record with (most of) the original lineup,” the article begins.

“They just signed a deal with one of the top five most famous producers of all time to take the helm of the project. Among his stipulations was that every member of the band cede control to the producer, and if any single one member of the band departs or screws up? It is over.”

“According to one member, no more half-hearted collaborative efforts for that band,” it continues. “At this point, why would they even try? Aside from the expense of paying off past lawsuits and alimony, they want the money. Apparently all that recent concert money they’ve recently earned has reminded them they were once that good. This should be interesting.”

Understandably, the rumour mill is running hot, with everyone throwing down their suggestions for just who it may be. Suggestions so far include the likes of KISS, Oasis, Van Halen, and even Led Zeppelin, but it seems so far that the best guess so far may just be Guns N’ Roses.

After all, considering that the band’s long-awaited “not in this lifetime” reunion tour is still going strong, maybe now is the perfect time to record a follow-up to Chinese Democracy? Plus, the mention of the group recording with most of their original lineup rings true too, considering that Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin have not taken part in the band’s reunion tour, apart from a few occasional appearances at select shows.

However, we’re inclined to believe that it may even be The Smashing Pumpkins. With plenty of discussion about the topic from Billy Corgan in the last few months, and with a recent Instagram photo showing original band members in the studio, we could just see a new album from the grunge band’s classic lineup sooner than we think.

Of course, this is all speculation, so keep a close eye out for more news in the coming days, weeks, and months, and cross your fingers that it’s the band you hope it is.
