There’s a good chance we won’t forget the awkwardness that was Metallica and Lady Gaga’s Grammys performance last month, in which Metallica frontman James Hetfield’s microphone wasn’t turned on. Well, the Grammy’s have now published video of what the performance should have sounded like.

We found out soon after the performance that it was the fault of a stagehand who had accidentally unplugged the microphone, although contradicting stories arose, saying that it was only the TV feed that saw issues, and that the actual performance was fine if viewed in person.

Well, the Grammys have decided to put the issue to rest, sharing a video of the dress rehearsal of the performance. Titled ‘Moth Into Flame (How It SHOULD Have Sounded)’, the video shows both Hetfield and Gaga performing with working microphones, resulting in a bloody good performance from the two performers.

While the Grammys’ video is geo-blocked to Australians, some thoughtful fan has uploaded the video to YouTube so that the rest of the world can view the full performance. You can check out the full dress rehearsal performance below.
