MTV Australia has released a video of Gang Of Youths performing “Let Me Down Easy” ahead of their MTV Unplugged Melbourne episode debuting this Sunday. The video features frontman Dave Le’aupepe performing the track backed by strings and horns.

It was announced back in June that Gang Of Youths would feature on the debut episode of Australia’s MTV Unplugged Melbourne. They are the first Aussie group to be a part of the iconic series since Midnight Oil in 1993.

The stunning performance took place on July 25th in Melbourne’s Meat Market, underneath 1200 roses. The episode will air at 6pm this Sunday, and if this video is anything to go by, it’s going to be pretty awesome.

Speaking to Tone Deaf ahead of the performance, Gang Of Youths bass player Max Quinn shared what he was looking forward to showcasing on the night; “To see the melodies and vocals featuring a bit more, I just think it’s really special, and I guess that’s just what draws you in to it. You think about that Nirvana set, that’s what draws you to it; just seeing it in a more ‘this is the melody of the song’ manner.”
