Big Day Out is almost upon us and those without tickets to sideshows will be kicking themselves as they continue to sell out across the country. TOday we got word that mash-up maestro Girl Talk has sold out his Big Day Out sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne where he’ll be serving up his usual dance party to those lucky enough to have a ticket.
Also announced are the supports for Girl Talk in both cities with Melbourne’s King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard joining the mayhem. The seven psych-loving kids from the Great Ocean Road in Victoria have built themselves a reputation as a debaucherous bunch of surf-punks.
Dubbed by triple j’s Dom Alessio as “a tour de force of reverberated rock’n’roll”, it is of little surprise that they were nominated for Best New Talent in The Age’s EG Awards. The septet will kick off the Girl Talk party with their bang-up-fun live show.
