Meeting together backstage at a gig where both were supporting The Church in their respective bands at the time (Augie March & The Black Eyed Susans), Glenn Richards and Dn Luscombe are now long term friends. They’ve toured in support of each other in these bands and with Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males and The Drones, two other great, defining Australian acts.
Last year after crapping on about it over a few drinks for a very long time, they finally came through with the goods and recorded a full length together. Roping in Chris Richards, Ben Bourke and Mike Noga, they cut the long discussed album, Glimjack, in a cold warehouse in the inner Melbourne suburb of Fairfield. Since then they’ve been playing shows together in weird and wonderful venues across the country and in doing so have accidentally hit on a formula for rehearsing which amounts to just not rehearsing, they play whatever they feel like, or whatever the crowd asks for (within reason) from the very large catalogue of Augie March and GR solo releases. Audience interaction is frequent and the wit is ranges from razor sharp to as dull as the veritable watching paint dry.
Taking to the stage armed only with strings and ivories, seasoned voices, candour, and quite a lot of those pesky old things called songs, they’re extending an invite for you to come and join them for a night of merriment and song.
