VB and rock and roll tours go together like… well, like VB and rock and roll tours! It’s the perfect combination, especially when the aforementioned beer company are helping to make the touring dreams of three hard working Aussie bands a reality with their epic VB Hard Yards band comp.

Yup, VB are again giving a bunch of bands the chance to tour the country. Best of all, you can decide which bands hit your town, by having your say, getting involved, and helping VB choose who gets to play for you! After all, there are so many great Aussie bands vying for this prize, so VB need your ears to help them decide who is worthy of this mammoth opportunity.

This is the second year that the iconic Aussie beer has held Hard Yards. After last year’s inaugural run was such a roaring success, it was only natural that they would bring it back for round two! Entries for the competition are now closed, but this thing is far from over.

Entrants had to tell VB all about the hard yards they’ve put into their music, and why they deserve to win. Fair enough, too – this touring lifestyle doesn’t come easy, and nor should it. If you want to play, you’ve got to earn it. Not surprisingly, there has been a huge number of entries from all over Australia, each hoping to win a chance to go on tour

VB will be picking one band from each NSW, QLD and VIC, all of whom will cram into the tour van and hit four different cities on an epic jaunt, opening for some massive Aussie artists. VB are keeping exactly who those acts are pretty close to their chest for now, but considering the legendary Cosmic Psychos were involved last year, you better believe this will be an impressive, massive opportunity for the band to experience what it’s like to be on a proper national tour.

Let’s not forget the insane exposure they’ll get playing to huge, heaving audiences across the country! So let’s make sure whoever takes out the prize will truly be able to rock those kinda crowds. We’re fairly confident whoever the winners ends up being will slay those opening slots, but just to make sure, this is where you come in.

What happens now?

Grab down an ice cold VB (if you’re of drinking age and not currently operating a forklift, of course!) and vote now for your favourite band in each state. You’ve got until July 31 to get involved, so don’t miss out.
