Strewth! What on earth is a bloke to think? AC/DC have gone all soft, and decided to release their own range of inner city hipster beverages ,rather than their own specially brewed beer. In a move that would make Bon Scott spin in his grave, they’re teaming up with an Australian wine producer to release their own range of wine.

As of this Thursday August 18th, fans and errrrr, wine connoisseurs will be able to pick up an AC/DC branded bottle of plonk from Warburn Estate’s new collaboration with the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Fans will be able to choose from red or white, with Back in Black Shiraz, Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon Hell’s Bells Sauvignon Blanc and You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato available.

The wine varieties are set to be available exclusively from August 18 in Dan Murphy’s, BWS and Woolworths Liquor stores. “We wanted to make sure that AC/DC’s hometown fan base could have easy access to their rock icons’ wines,” according to Steve Donohue, general manager of buying for the Woolworths Liquor Group. “For us it was a no-brainer to make it available nationally, no-one misses out.”

The Fosters’ and Carlton United Brewing Groups will be watching this move very carefully, already concerned with the massive drop in beer consumption in Australia and this new threat which could encourage bogan consumption of drinks like wine.
