It’s one of the biggest musical genres in the world, but how well do you know your Latin music? Even if you’ve only had minimal exposure to the genre, you’d more than likely be aware of just how infectious and widespread its artists and tunes are. However, none of its artists are anywhere near as huge as Juanes.

Having sold over 15 million records in his career, and winning 20 of the 26 Latin Grammy Awards that he’s been nominated for, Juanes is arguably one of the most successul musicians in music. Now, as he celebrates 30 years of an astonishing career, Juanes is heading to Australia for an appearance at Bluesfest, as well as a couple of highly-anticipated sideshows.

While we’re sure you’ve heard of some of Latin music’s big names, including Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and the late Selena, Juanes has remained rather underrated in mainstream music circles, though his body of work is undeniable.

With tracks such as ‘Ada Valgo Sin Tu Amor’ spending 20 weeks on top of the charts, and also winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Song, we’ve taken a little look back at some of Latin music’s greatest tracks so that you can hear the brilliance that Juanes has behind him.

Be sure to grab tickets to this year’s Bluesfest to see one of the genre’s biggest acts performing on Australian soil. Or, if you can’t make it up to Byron Bay or if you want another dose of the good tunes, Juanes will be heading along to Melbourne and Sydney for a couple of sideshows after the fest.
