It’s hard to find a band that’s more polarising, or admittedly more successful in modern rock than Canadian juggernauts Nickelback. With upwards of 50 million albums sold, as well as a slew of Grammy nominations and various other awards, it’s hard to argue with the fact that millions of people love this band.

Not everyone buys the band’s idea of Rockstar

But truth be told, no matter how many people bag them on Twitter, laugh at others who like them or express who on earth could possibly go to their concerts, the fact remains that they’ve written some shit-hot jams in their time, and at least 20,000 people in each city of the globe seem to think so, given their turnouts.

So if you’re like some of us, and deep down inside you feel that Chad Kroeger is the next best thing after James Hetfield, feast your eyes below on those brave ones who’ve come out and vocalised their support for the most rock & roll band of the past twenty years.

We reached out to the Tone Deaf audience, asking Nickelback’s most firm supporters to voice their love for their Canadian kings.

We hope it inspires you to pick up a ticket before they touch down in Australia in February – take a look at some of the best comments below:

“Great sound and music. People only hate them because it was the cool thing to do ten years ago.” – Ryan Goll

“It becomes trendy to diss Nickelback. They become the scapegoats of any other talented band that play “radio friendly” songs. Well….YOU try writing a song that will get played on radio….. better yet.. YOU try writing a song that will get played on radio 15 years from now.” -Michael Grinsted

“Good riffs, Chad’s voice is a great rock voice. Catchy hooks and great driving grooves.” -Ryan Chandley

I’d say yeah, due to the fact they wrote one of the best songs of the last 25 years in How You Remind Me, they deserve their success. They’ve got a pretty small style arc but they’re one of very few artists around atm who got their success due to a great song, so I say good on them.” – Jamie O’Keefe

“I rock out whenever I hear em on the radio” – Jess Abraham

“I’m a fan of Nickelback because they rock out 🤟🏼” – Chris Seehusen

“Cause they’re the nickel-best” – Mitch Green

“Cause they are better than the Beatles” – Craig McNeill

“I actually like some of their music. I’d listen to them over anything new from Metallica.” – Derek Moody

“Yes. I’m in the minority but as a guitarist that plays metal, they were my gateway band to the genre as they have a fair share of heavy material” – Brandon Dinh

“They make good music. People only hate them because they think it’s cool to hate Nickelback” – Michael Rowe

“No need to say why! I fucking love them!!” – Katrina Marie Hanko

“Love this band. Grungy and straight to the point.” – Jacqui Thomson

I guess I found out about Nickelback in late 2000 through a song entitled; “Old Enough”. I thought that the opening riff had so much power behind it. Heavy riffs are AWESOME!!”- Jamal Sampson

“I like what I like, and I’m not ashamed. I grew up with Nickelback, and I really like them. They’ve got some pretty catchy songs that I find myself singing constantly 🤷‍♀️” – Sabrina Breanne

“I personally love Nickelback :) How You Remind Me Started it all! 💞” – Angela Dore

“They help Roadrunner Records make a fuck tonne of cash that they put back into their metal bands and fund new ones.” – Hayden Naughton

“Yeah, they make bops. And as much as ANYONE spews their hatred of them, they all know the words to Photograph and Rockstar, anyways. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.” – Madeleine Mulay

“Yep, heaps of great songs. Stoked they ignore the haters and keep putting out new shit. The track “Someone that you’re with” gets the juices flowing every time.” – Nathan Derek Spotswood

“Some of y’all dissing them but you know yo ass was bumping their music early 2000s.” – Johnny Trevino

“Don’t act like you’ve never jammed out to photograph before” – Jack Cartwright
