Former Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge has managed to stay in the music headlines ever since he left Blink-182 back in 2015. Whether it be for his unclear attitudes towards the current state of his old group, or for his fondness for making films about aliens and conspiracy theories, you certainly can’t deny he always has something to say. Earlier today though, DeLonge has used his Facebook to say one of the best things he’s said in years; that he’s a huge fan of Amy Shark.

Taking to his Facebook page earlier today, DeLonge posted a message professing his love for Amy Shark, whose EP Night Thinker was released just a couple of weeks back. “I had the pleasure meeting Amy Shark and her husband Shane. Two great people that supported me throughout all of my musical adventures,” his post begins.

“Now, after a decade of (largely unnoticed) work, she has exploded and #1 in Australia. A synth-pop blend of Indie-Rock and Emotion, I could not be happier for her and her husband, who is her number one fan!” DeLonge closes his post by asking his hunrdeds of thousands of followers to “Do more than follow her, buy her music.”

While Aussies here have been jumping on the Amy Shark train more and more in recent times, especially after the release of last year’s brilliant ‘Adore’, it’s wonderful to see some of music’s huge names standing up and taking notice of the awesome music Australia has to offer. There’s no word yet as to whether there will be some sort of Amy Shark and Tom DeLonge collaboration happening soon, but we’re certainly keeping our eyes peeled for an announcement.
