Jack White, the former front man of The White Stripes, has denied suggestions that he had been working on the score for a new film adaptation of legendary band The Kinks;’ Schoolboys In Disgrace album.

White issued a cease and desist call after frontman Ray Davies gave an interview to the BBC in which he said that Jack White was involved  in the film.

He reckoned his supposed score had a “great anarchic sound” and that The Dead Weather’s front man was “a great technical player and would bring some great anarchy to it, which is in keeping with the script.”
White’s people disagree, saying  “Rumours of Jack White’s participation in the film version of The Kinks’ Schoolboys in Disgrace are untrue. Jack White has great respect for The Kinks and the film’s director, Bobcat Goldthwait, but has no plans to record any music for the film as erroneously reported.”
