If you’re looking for a way to introduce your kids to the wonders of Metallica, this just might be the way.

According to Deadline, the band’s legendary frontman, James Hetfield will star in an upcoming Ted Bundy biopic, starring none other than enduring teen icon Zac Efron.

The film is called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and will see Hetfield play the role of “no-nonsense Utah highway patrol Officer Bob Hayward, who was the first officer to arrest Bundy after pulling the serial killer over”.

Sounds like the right kind of role for the dude who basically defined what it meant to write no-nonsense thrash tunes with guitar licks so intense the walls of your bedroom would shake in fear at the mere drop of a needle on your …And Justice To All vinyl.

The director of the film, the Oscar-nominated Joe Berlinger previously worked with Hetfield on creating the Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster, and also penned a book about the band, This Monster Lives.

He opened up about what working with Hetfield, gushing about his talent and the time spent with Metallica.

“Having spent hundreds of hours behind the scenes with James and the rest of Metallica, I have experienced his charisma and powerful presence close up”

“It seemed only natural that he would bring that same power and magnetism to a dramatic role, so when he agreed to my pitch that he be in the movie, I was thrilled.”
