Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani has announced a huge tour of Australia at the end of 2018, marking 30 years since his first tour here. The tour comes after the release of his 16th album What Happens Next earlier this year.

This tour is Satriani’s first visit to Australia in nearly five years and will see the musician joined on stage by Mike Keneally (previous tours include Steve Vai and Frank Zappa ), Bryan Beller (Dethklok Aristocrats, and Joe Travers(previous tours include Zappa Plays Zappa /Duran Duran). Satriani first visited our shores after he was handpicked by Mick Jagger to be his guitarist on his first solo tour.

Joe Satriani has released 16 solo albums over his career, earning him 15 Grammy nominations, and album sales in excess of 10 million units worldwide. His latest album is his most straightforward, classic rock album yet.

Satriani enlisted the help of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, Chickenfoot bandmate, Deep Purple bassist and longtime friend Glenn Hughes and producer Mike Fraser to write a fresh, immediate and lively rock n’ roll record. This tour will be a first chance for fans to hear this new album live, as well as all his classic hits.

The guitarist’s return to Australia is expected to be nothing short of epic. Not only is it Joe’s first Australian tour since 2014, it’s also a rare chance to experience one of the world’s greatest guitarists beginning the next chapter of his legendary career.
