We know King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are easily Australia’s most prolific band, but they’re also on the cusp of being one of Australia’s biggest. If you need any more proof, they’ve almost completely sold out their latest national tour.

The band have exhausted capacity at every single venue on their 13-date Nonagon Infinity tour except for Wollongong (seriously Wollongong, get it together), which it bears remembering was only recently announced and still has plenty of time.

These are serious rooms we’re talking about here, as well. In Melbourne alone, the band’s hometown, King Gizzard managed to sell out three consecutive nights at the Croxton Bandroom, which boasts a capacity of about 800 people.

It’s a similar story elsewhere in the country, with the band conquering music markets all over Australia, regardless of how notoriously fickle they may be. The band have sold out consecutive nights in Perth and Sydney, as well as dates in Adelaide and Fremantle.

It’s honestly a remarkable feat for an independent band that self-releases its endless stream of albums through a small indie label owned and managed by one of the band’s drummers and multi-instrumentalists Eric Moore, Flightless Records.
