Shortly after forming in 2008, Melbourne band Kitchen Knife Wife soon found themselves touring Europe as main support for the UK indie pop group The Wombats. The band were shellshocked but having too much fun to think or complain about it as they found themselves playing to packed houses from Amsterdam to Helsinki before triumphantly returning home to play the Melbourne Laneway festival before commencing work on their debut album.

In 2011 with the album complete and a fifth member added to the line-up, Kitchen Knife Wife has embarked on a run of gigs to celebrate the launch of their new single ‘Happy’. They’ll be kicking off a run of shows with The Vasco Era by playing a headline slot of their own at the Toff In Town with their mates Immigrant Union, Melbourne’s latest alt-country supergroup featuring members of The Dandy Warhols, The Galvatrons and The Lazy Sons.
