Legendary alt-rock act L7 have announced their first album since 1999, with the band launching a PledgeMusic campaign leading up to its release.

“We’ve had such a blast hanging out, writing, and recording with each other again that we decided to keep the ball rolling,” the band said in a statement.

“More song ideas have been flowing out of us every time we get together and play, so we’ve decided to make a full-length album which we will record this year.”

The band will be offering fans several gifts in exchange for pledges, including vocalist Donita Sparks’ recording microphone, a signed limited edition 7” of their recent single “I Came Back To Bitch,” vintage and rare L7 vinyl, and a signed turntable from the 1994 “Andres” video.

The band parted ways in 2001, citing financial reasons for their parting, “There comes a time when you’re approaching [a certain] age and it’s like, “Oh, fuck. Well, shit. I don’t have much to show for it financially.”

L7 yielded a massive influence on the riot grrl scene of the 90s, releasing their last album Slap-Happy in 1999. The band toured Australia in 2016, playing a slew of headline shows across the country.
